Investments often bring to mind images of greed and endless money-making schemes, but what if I told you they could actually help you live out your Christian values? That's the heart of our conversation here—investments are not just for retirement; they can be your key to living out God's purpose right now. We dive into this idea, exploring how financial freedom isn’t merely about building a nest egg but about creating space to serve, give, and lead in ways that truly matter.

We share a powerful story about a client who transformed their life by aligning investments with their calling. Through this episode, we challenge the notion that investments are just for future security and show how they can actually be tools for impacting lives today.

So, if you’ve ever wondered whether your financial choices could be more than just a means to an end, this episode is for you. We break down how financial freedom can lead to more fulfilling lives, allowing us to focus on what truly matters—living out God’s call in our lives right now. You've been listening to this series on investments, but maybe you're thinking like so many people, is this all about greed? Is this all about making money? But what if investments could fuel your Christian values? What if your investments could give you freedom to actually live out your true calling and live out that calling right now, not in 30 years. And I love this quote from U D Smith, and that's what he said. He said, I'm showing you a real investment to make.Put your life, your time, your money, your talent, put everything you've got in Christ. Well, that's a challenge, isn't it? Which leads us today's listener question. And I got this one. I said, this is perfect.Ralph, I've been investing for years, but I wonder, could investments actually help me live out my calling, not just fund retirement? What a great question. So let me ask you, what if your investments weren't just numbers on a statement, but the key God wants to use to unlock your calling today, not 30 years from now? See, retirement planning is about security someday, but kingdom investing is about freedom today.Because most people, and I've seen this in my own life, wait 30 years to enjoy their investments. But let me ask you this, what if God is asking you to use them right now, to step into your calling today? Are you ready to live out your kingdom purpose? That's what we're going to talk about on today's show.

Welcome to the show. I'm Ralph and I want to share with you how to use your investment study to find freedom.Maybe for you freedom is a way to pursue your God given talents and really live in his purpose for your life. I want to dispel a rumor right now. Money isn't only for later. So many people think, well, in 30 years, Ralph, then I can live my life. But let me tell you right now, it can be a tool for God's purpose in your life today. And listen, I've seen investments fuel amazing projects for those who have found their true calling in life. I've been doing this for 30 years.I've been working, helping people align money with their meaning. And I'm going to tell you right now, personally, I've experienced many times how financial freedom creates space. And when you have that space, then you can finally focus on your calling and hey, maybe even focus more on your family. And I'll tell you a story. I had a client once, he dreamed about starting this ministry project. And he realized eventually. He said, ralph, you know, I could use my investments to give me a way to start this project. And, and he said, listen, I've got to get some margin in my life.We worked with him and I showed him how to get some freedom to reduce his work hours. Now this is something he'd be, he'd been praying about for years. And I'll never forget when he told me this, he said, ralph, for the first time in years, I don't feel chained to my job. I finally have space to serve where God is calling me.And I'll tell you what, that was a humbling experience for me because it wasn't just about numbers. It was about a life set free. Now you might know the comedian Chris Rock, and Chris Rock said this, and I think this is perfect. He said, wealth is not about having a lot of money. It's about having a lot of options. Well, let's talk about building some options. Take a moment right now. I want you to think about this. What if you didn't have to work anymore? What if tomorrow you could actually live out your dreams? What would you do with your time?If you've ever considered living in your calling, then how would your life be different? Now, if you feel like compelled to do this, how do we make that happen? Well, this investment series gives you one of the tools.See, by investing, by building that passive income we've been chatting about. Here's how you can do that. Here's why this is so important. Number one, financial freedom. When you build this passive investments, when you build this income, it helps you explore your calling. Because listen, you're no longer stressed by money stress. You're not chained to that 9 to 5 job anymore. You're not worried about how to pay this week's bills. And when you're able to break free of that, you can listen to God's leading more clearly. Second thing, it does investments give you margin. What I'm talking about here is they can give you more free time. Like my client learned she was able to have more free time and actually lean into her calling. It helps you work less, helps you fund a dream that God has placed in your heart. But here's the problem. Too many people focus on long term retirement. We need to focus on God's calling now because so many people think, well, investments, Ralph, that's for decades later, what if I told you right now that God could be using them to open doors today? Which leads me to this point, it allows you to align with your mission. See, I truly believe in life. God gave us all gifts and he gave us a calling. And if we're really going to live out what God wants for our lives, I pray about this every day. God, what will your will be for me today? Well, your money should serve those things, not the other way around. So many of us feel like we serve money when money should be serving us. So let me ask you this question. Are you living out your calling today? Well, let's get right into the Bible.I found this verse from the book of Ephesians, chapter 2, verse 10. It says this. For we are God's handiwork, created in Christ Jesus. Do good works which God prepared in advance for us to do.I just want to unwind that a bit. First thing we see here is our identity in Christ. You're God's handiwork. Those skills, that creativity and those resources are all part of his plan.Well, guess what? Your financial life is part of that design. It's a tool to help you fulfill your calling.Another thing the scripture talk about is the purpose of wealth. See, money is not the end goal. So many people get stuck on that. It's not the end goal. It's a means to an end. It's a way to fuel those good works that God prepared in advance for you.And this investment series, that passive income frees you up from being chained to that constant labor so that you can actually focus on eternal impact. What else does the verse tell us? It talks about stewardship and multiplication, like the parable of the talents. I've talked about that on the show.Investments allow what God has entrusted to grow and to multiply. And that passive income means your resources can keep working for you for kingdom purposes, even when you're asleep at night. And last but not least, it builds margin for that mission. Like my client learned, financial freedom creates space. It creates time and energy and flexibility so that you can serve, give and lead without being drained by those financial pressures. That passive income provides margin to say yes to opportunities that God puts in front of you. And it all leads to eternal impact.See, good works are not just about generosity today. Think about that for a second. They create ripple effects that outlast your lifetime.Things that you do now, the ministries that you start, the things that you give back are going to ripple for generations. And when you align your investments with God purposes, you can shift from building wealth for comfort to building wealth for kingdom significance. How about we pray together? Father, we just come to you right now. We just are so grateful for the opportunities that you give us, Lord. And we ask you right now to show us how our money can fuel the mission that you have for our lives, Lord. Help us to find wisdom, to use investments as tools, Lord, and not idols. And give us courage to step into your calling with faith, even though the world tells us to do something else. And we ask all of this courageously in the name of Jesus. Amen. Well, here's your one action step for today.I want you to write down one specific dream. We talked about that a few minutes ago. If you didn't have to work anymore, what would you dream? What would your dream be?See, your investments could give you space to live out your calling. Right now. Maybe it's taking a day off each week for ministry. Maybe it's funding a family mission, trips.Whatever it is, I want you to put it on paper. Because if you don't define it, your money will never serve it. So that's my action step for today. One more thing I ask you to do today. If you love this episode today, go and spread the word about it. You, you can support the show by going to financiallyconfidentchristian.com/support. Support the show. And you can share this episode with a friend. It might just be what they need to hear this week. Friend, money is not your master, it's your servant.I want to repeat that because it's so important that you understand that so many people get hung up on that. Money is not your master, it's your servant. And when you align your investments with God's callings, you're not just building wealth, you're building Kingdom Impact, and you're doing it today. So let's build on those dreams today. Let's all go out there and be financially confident Christians. I want to encourage you stay financially savvy.God bless you, and I'll talk to you again tomorrow.
