Speaker A

Hey, you ever feel like your financial life is just too noisy? You got too many accounts, too many bills, too many subscriptions, too many little things pulling at your piece? And somewhere inside you whisper, why does this feel harder than it should? Friend? First of all, you're not imagining that financial clutter steals your peace, but simplicity gives it back. Let's find some simplicity. On today's show, We ride. Hey, friend. Ralph Estep Jr. Here.Welcome to Financially Confident Christian, where we learn to walk through life and money with wisdom, with peace, and with a heart anchored in God's truth.A mission is simple to help you break that cycle of financial shame, build steady habits rooted in faith, and become the kind of believer who handles money with clarity, with confidence, and with spiritual purpose. Now, yesterday we talked about building habits that actually last. Those simple rhythms, those steady steps, nothing heavy and nothing overwhelming. But today, we're going to take that same spirit and apply it to something that weighs on so many of us. Financial clutter. All those little things that quietly drain money. They drain our peace. And, hey, they even drain our emotional space.Today's goal was simple. Help you breathe again.A listener wrote me recently and said, ralph, I don't spend a ton, but it feels like I'm juggling a hundred little money things. I've got accounts and apps and bills and subscriptions. Is it supposed to feel this stressful? Hey, maybe you feel that, too. You're not drowning. You're just tired. You're tired of keeping track of everything. You're tired of the mental load, tired of wondering, where is all my money going? And maybe a part of you feels embarrassed that something so small feels so overwhelming. Friend, first of all, there's no shame here. Clutter builds quietly, and it wears on your soul more than you realize.Research shows that the average person has more financial accounts, more subscriptions, and more obligations than their brain can comfortably manage. Its overload. For us, we're not made for that kind of constant noise. And when our finances are cluttered, our minds become cluttered, too.Not because we're irresponsible, but because we're human. And for more than three decades, as an accountant and a coach, I've watched people breathe easier the moment they simplify their lives. Not because they made more money, but because they created space for peace to grow. I've seen it with hundreds of families, and I've seen it in my own life, too. And a woman in our community. I'll call her Sarah. She told me her finances felt like a junk drawer with a password can you imagine that? She wasn't overspending. She wasn't reckless. She was just overwhelmed. So she took one Saturday morning. That's what she did.She simply canceled two unused subscriptions. She also closed an old account that she never used anymore and moved all of her bills onto one simple calendar. She emailed me later that day and said, ralph, it feels like I lost ten pounds and I didn't even leave the house. Those small steps brought her big peace. So let me ask you this. What would happen in your financial life if it was simple?Again, I'm not talking about perfection. Nothing dramatic, just simple. Let's walk through this together. Here's the first thing I want to bring to your attention.First thing you can do is cancel what doesn't serve you anymore. Start small. Start kind to yourself. Look at those subscriptions. We all have so many of these streaming and absent trials you signed up for and you forgot about. Many people pay for at least one thing they never use anymore. Canceling it isn't about deprivation. It's actually about freedom. It's about saying, I want my peace back. Here's another thing you can do, just like Sarah did, close or combine some of those accounts. Those old checking accounts, those old savings accounts. I remember the store cards that I had from when I was, like, 16 and 17 years old. Are those dusty investment apps.Every extra account creates a little extra stress in your life. If you combine them, it brings everything back into focus. You don't need fewer opportunities. You need fewer distractions. And I love what Sarah did.Nothing I'm going to encourage you to do. Put your bills in one place. Just one calendar, one app, one notebook, one system. We're not talking about perfection here. We're talking about consistency. Because when you know what's coming, you stop living in financial tension. That simplicity is a spiritual gift you give your future self. And finally, if nothing else, let peace be the goal. This isn't about saving money alone. It's about creating space for the Holy Spirit to calm your financial life. That order will make room for peace. And I love what the apostle Paul writes in First Corinthians, chapter 14, verse 33. For God is not a God of disorder, but of peace. God's heart is not chaos. It's not confusion. It's not clutter. God's heart is peace. And when we can bring order to our financial life, we aren't just budgeting better. We're aligning our souls with the nature of God. Lord, thank you for the gift of peace that comes through simplicity.Help us clear the clutter that weighs on our hearts. Show us what to cancel. Show us what to combine and show us what to let go of. Guide us into order.Lord, free us from waste and steady our steps as we walk with you. And we ask this in Jesus name. Amen. Okay, here's today's step. It's small but powerful. I want you to cancel one unused subscription service. Just one.Everybody's got one they're not using anymore. It's simple, it's clear, and hey, it's doable. And once you do it, let's let the peace begin. One of our community members wrote this recently to us said Ralph, I joined the financially confident Christian community because I was tired of doing everything alone. The daily prompts keep me steady. The encouragement feels gentle and never pushy. And knowing I'm not the only one working through money and faith has been such a relief. Friend, you don't have to walk this path alone either. Come join us in a free, supportive and shame free environment.Go to financiallyconfidentchristian.com/join again. That's financiallyconfidentchristian.com/Join because we walk this road together. Remember this, friend, God is with you in every small step. That simplicity brings peace to your life and peace brings clarity. So go out there today. Be patient with yourself, be gentle with your journey and trust that God is guiding you one quiet step at a time.Let's all go out there today and be financially confident Christians. You can do this. I've got confidence in you. Stay financially savvy. God bless you and I'll see you again on tomorrow's show.
