Diving into the nitty-gritty of financial confidence, we explored the idea that no matter how much we save or budget, there's always that nagging voice of doubt whispering, 'What if it isn't enough?' But here's the kicker: your financial peace isn't tethered to your bank account or your spreadsheet; it's anchored in Christ. We took a stroll through some powerful scriptures that remind us where our true peace lies. From John 14:27 to Philippians 4:7, it’s all about finding that divine assurance that transcends our worldly worries. We acknowledged that perfectionism can creep in and shake our confidence, but we’re here to throw that fear out the window. Instead of counting dollars, we should be counting on God. I challenged everyone to get real about their financial fears, to drag those worries into the light, and to surrender them. It’s like lightening your load—who doesn’t want to feel that relief? So, we wrapped up with a prayer, reminding ourselves that our confidence isn’t in cash, but in the Creator.

Takeaways:

  • Surrendering your financial fears is key to finding true peace in life.
  • Your financial confidence shouldn't come from your bank balance but from your faith.
  • Even if you follow the perfect budget, your peace ultimately relies on Christ alone.
  • Daily practices of surrendering fears can help you anchor your peace in God's promises.
  • Financial stability is good, but don't let it be the source of your confidence.
  • True peace comes from God, not from the numbers in your bank account.

Hey there, friend. Welcome back to Financially Confident Christian. I'm Ralph. And it's always an honor to be with you again today on the show.As you know, this is the show all about helping you answer one transformative question. And that question is this. How can I become a financially confident Christian? And we're in the final stretch of our beyond the Budget series, living intentionality in our life. Now, yesterday we explored the joy of simplicity and finding peace without spending.I'm encouraging, if you missed it, go check it out because I really thought that was an impactful show. And today we're going to bring it all together with a foundational truth. Your deepest financial confidence is found in Christ, not cash. You're doing the right things. You're budgeting, you're giving, you're building a financial foundation. But then a headline shakes you, an unexpected bill arrives, a job.Concern creeps in, and suddenly your confidence feels fragile and you start to wonder, have I really done enough? And if you're honest with yourself, perfectionism kicks in. And right after that, fear follows and peace just absolutely slips away. But here's the truth I need you to hear, and I need you to hear it right now. Even the best plan, I'm talking about the best plan will never replace your need for Christ. Did you hear what I just said?Even the best plan will never replace your need for Christ. Because this is foundational. And here's the thing I need you to understand. True peace doesn't come from money. We live in a culture where all around you, peace comes from money. Hey, have this stuff, you'll have peace. Make this much money, you'll have peace. Do this, you'll have peace. But true peace doesn't come from money, it comes from God. Well, let's look at the Scriptures. Let's look at the Book of John, chapter 14, verse 27. And Jesus says this peace I leave you. My peace I give you.I did not give it to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid See, that's peace right there. Let's continue on.Let's look at the book of Philippians, chapter 4, verse 7. Because it reminds us of a beautiful truth. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. And I got one more scripture I want to quote, and I love the book of Romans. If you listen to me, you know, I talk about the book of Romans as being my favorite book of the Bible. Let's look at the Book of Romans, chapter 8, verse 28. Because it gives us this promise. And we know that in all things, God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. Just dwell on that for a second. Meditate on that for a second. We know in all things, God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. Friend, God is your anchor. It's not your income. God is your anchor. It's not your savings. God is your anchor. It's not your spreadsheet.Surrender plus stewardship equals lasting peace. I want to say that one more time. Surrender plus stewardship equals lasting peace. Do you want lasting peace today? Really?Do you want lasting peace today? You might be saying, okay, Ralph, yes, I want lasting peace. What can we do? What can we do? Well, here's what you got to do.Surrender your financial fears daily and anchor your peace in God's promises, not in your bank balance. I want to say that again because you may have missed it.Surrender financial fears daily, daily, and anchor your peace in God's promises, not your bank balance. That's how you walk in true financial confidence. They might be saying, that sounds great, Rob, but how do I do it?Well, I've got an action step for you today. I want you to really take a moment and identify your confidence. Steve, take a moment, ask this question. What financial fear is stealing my peace right now? Look deeper than the numbers. What's weighing on your heart? Is it waking up at 2am wondering if your job will still be there the next month? There's been a lot of cuts around me, Ralph. I'm worried about my job. Things are not great at my business.Maybe for you it's watching the stock market tank and thinking, will I ever have anything left for retirement? Will I have enough left for retirement? Maybe the mail comes and you open a surprise medical bill and you feel like your stomach just dropped.Man, I wasn't counting on this, Ralph. The insurance company's not going to cover this. And, man, I don't know where I'm going to get the money.Or maybe, like a lot of us, you're scrolling through news headlines and they just say it's only going to get worse. The headlines. Sometimes that's all they say to us. It's only going to get worse. But I want you to write that fear down. Name it.Because here's the truth. Fear thrives in the dark. And the only way you're going to conquer it is to drag it into the light. And then you got to practice surrender.I'm going to encourage you to speak this prayer aloud. Or maybe you're not one of these aloud prayers. Just whisper it in your own spirit. Say, lord, I give you my fear of.And then name that specific fear, whatever that is. My fear of losing my job. My fear of not having enough for retirement. My fear that everything's crumbling around me.Lord, I give that fear to you today. You are my provider. Not my paycheck, not the market, not my own hustle. And I want you to do a little thing with your mind.Picture yourself just taking that and handing it to God. Just handing it to him. Lord, here you go. Kind of like you're on a journey. You're setting down this heavy backpack you've been carrying for far too long. Just let him take it and just savor in that relief. Feel that relief. Just leave it at the foot of the cross. Then I'm going to encourage you to meditate on Scripture. See, God's word doesn't just inform one of the beauties of scripture. It's one of the big reasons I do this show.Because God's word doesn't just inform, it transforms. I'm going to encourage you. Choose one of today's verses and carry it like armor. John 14:27. Peace I leave you. Don't let your hearts be troubled.Philippians 4:7. The peace of God will guard your hearts and your minds. Or Romans 8:28. In all things, God works for the good of those who love him. Repeat it.When fear rises, write it on a sticky note. Say it in the car. Whisper it before bed. Because no budget. And hear me on this no budget, no savings account, no financial strategy can guard your heart like God's peace. Because, friend, God is the key to your long term peace. And if you do these things, it's going to break that idol of control and that that seeking always for financial perfection. It's going to build spiritual resistance. It's going to restore joy and peace, even in uncertainty. And it's going to anchor your Confidence in God, not your performance. How about we pray together, Father? God, we just thank you for being our faithful provider, our perfect peace and our unshakable anchor. And Lord, we confess that often, we often place our hope in numbers and we let our fear creep in when things shift. So today, Lord, we surrender. We give you our fears, our what ifs, those things that bother us, those things that weigh on our soul every day and our striving, Lord, and we just ask that you help us. Rest in your promises, Lord. Fill us with peace that surpasses all understanding. And anchor our confidence in you alone. And we ask this humbly in boldness. Sounds like a contradiction, but we ask this humbly. And we ask this in boldness and confidence in Jesus name. Amen. Friend.Your confidence is not in your cash. It's not in your retirement account, it's not in your bank balance. It's not in the stuff that you have. It's in Christ. Hear me on that. It's in Christ. So I just want to encourage you today, surrender the fear. Just hand it over to God and embrace that peace and walk forward.Knowing this, you are financially confident not because of your performance, but because of his promises. I want to ask you a favor right now. Do me a favor and share this show with somebody. If the show is giving you value, if it's giving you confidence, if it's helping you walk in that financial certainty, share it with somebody who's been struggling, maybe, you know, somebody in your life right now that's struggling with that lack of confidence. And tomorrow we're going to talk about a powerful, practical daily rhythm to keep you grounded in intentional living every single day.Because that's what it's all about. It's about keeping that momentum going. So until then, I'm going to encourage you to stay anchored, stay surrendered, and stay financially confident. You've got this. I have confidence in you, have confidence in yourself. God bless you and you have a peace filled day.
