Your mid-year numbers have a way of sitting in the background of your mind, quietly shaping your stress, even when you try not to think about them. I know that weight because I’ve had to learn how to face my own financial reality without letting fear take over. In this episode of Financially Confident Christian, we’re going to walk through how we can approach a mid-year money check-in so we can move from avoidance to clarity and begin taking steady, confident action.

I start by creating a calm and intentional space before I review anything, because I’ve learned that the environment we choose directly influences how we think and respond. I write down every debt clearly, creditors, balances, and minimum payments, without judgment, because awareness is where real progress begins, and this is something we all have to practice. Instead of getting stuck on the total number, we focus on one debt and one practical step we can take right now to build momentum. We also create a simple monthly check-in rhythm to stay consistent and avoid slipping back into avoidance. Over time, I’ve seen that consistency builds our confidence, and shame begins to lose its power when we face the truth. As we reflect on 2 Timothy 1:7, we’re reminded that we’ve been given power, love, and self-discipline, not fear, so let’s choose to move forward anchored in that truth.
