If I’m honest, fixing my credit used to feel like chasing a number, always trying to get it up as fast as possible without really understanding what was driving it. I want you to hear what I’ve learned through that experience: real, lasting credit repair doesn’t come from quick fixes, it comes from changing your patterns. In this episode of Financially Confident Christian, I walk you through how I shifted my focus from trying to “fix everything at once” to simply starting somewhere small and consistent so I could actually build progress I could sustain.

I began rebuilding trust with myself through simple daily actions, especially by paying on time every single time, because I realized that one habit carries more weight than I ever gave it credit for. I’ve also had to completely change how I think about credit, choosing to use it with intention instead of avoidance or impulse. Before I swipe or tap, I pause and ask myself if this decision aligns with the financial life I’m trying to build. I’m still growing and still adjusting, but I’ve learned that this journey is not about perfection, it’s about consistency. Step by step, I’m proving to myself that I can be trusted with my finances again, and that is where real change begins.
