Why I'm Changing the Name of My Podcast After All These Years

If you saw the name change and your stomach dropped a little, I want you to read this before Monday. You deserve to hear it from me instead of piecing it together from a new logo in your podcast app.

Here it is plainly. Beginning Monday, August 31st, Financially Confident Christian becomes Becoming Financially Confident. It goes live every weekday at 11:30 AM Eastern, and it runs a full hour.

What Actually Changes

The name changes. The format changes. Almost nothing you came here for in the first place changes.

I'm bringing a co-host across the table from me. Her name is Juliet, and you're going to love her. Two voices having a real conversation beats me talking into a microphone alone every morning. We'll have live chat. We'll take live calls, so you can get on the air and talk through your situation with us while it's happening.

That last part is the piece I've wanted for years. I never liked answering a question about somebody without ever talking to them.

If You Can't Make 11:30, You're Fine

I know most of you listen in the car or at the kitchen sink. Nothing about that has to change.

The full show posts as a podcast episode later that same day, in the same feed you already use. Same subscription. Nothing new to find. Nothing to resubscribe to. Same feed, same me, new name.

Why Now

Someone wrote in the other day, scared, about a bill due in two weeks. The way we do it now, my answer might not reach them for a month. Sometimes six weeks. That has kept me up at night for a long time.

Live means today's question gets answered today, with you in the room. You shouldn't have to wait three weeks for an answer you need this afternoon.

Juliet changes what this can be too. She's going to push back and ask the thing I didn't think to ask.

The Faith Part, Straight

I'm not going to talk around this one.

The weekday show is built as a money show anyone can walk into. Practically, that means the scripture reading and the closing prayer are no longer a fixed segment on the weekday rundown. That's a real change. You're going to notice it, and you deserve better from me than pretending you won't.

Here's what's true. I'm still going to share my faith on that show every single day. It's the core of who I am, and I'm not hiding it to make anyone comfortable. What changes is that it stops being a scheduled block and starts being what it is in real life, something that comes out in the middle of a real conversation about real money.

I think that's the stronger testimony. Reading a verse to a room that already agrees with me is one thing. Sitting across from somebody who doesn't share my beliefs at all, and having them walk away saying there's something different about how that man treats people, is another.

The Deep Teaching Already Has a Home

If the faith moment is why you started listening, you don't have to go anywhere.

Truth Unveiled with Ralph comes out every Sunday. That show is about scripture, the spiritual side, no money angle at all, and it goes deeper than I was ever able to get inside a money episode.

Weekdays for your wallet. Sundays for your soul. You're not giving up either one.

To The Ones Who Came For The Word "Christian"

You're the reason this show grew. You sent the questions. You prayed for the people who asked them. Some of you were here when almost nobody was listening.

I'm not walking away from any of that. I'm walking into a bigger room, and I'm giving that room a room of its own on Sundays.

Paul wrote in 1 Corinthians 9:22 (NIV), "To the weak I became weak, to win the weak. I have become all things to all people so that by all possible means I might save some." Paul didn't change what he believed. He changed how he showed up so more people could hear it. That's the whole reason for this change.

The people who need this most often aren't looking for a church. They're looking for someone who won't make them feel stupid about bouncing a payment. Too many financial gurus make people feel small. That's never going to be how I run this show.
