How do you build a budget that actually works in real life, not just on paper? I want you to know I’m not talking about a perfect spreadsheet or a plan that only looks good in theory. In this episode of Financially Confident Christian, I walk you through how I build a budget that creates peace instead of pressure so you can feel in control of your money without feeling restricted by it. I start by making sure my essentials are fully covered first, food, transportation, and insurance, because I’ve learned these are what keep my financial foundation stable when life gets unpredictable.
Once those needs are secure, I shape my budget around real life instead of an ideal version of it. I want you to see budgeting the way I do, not as a restriction, but as a direction that gives every dollar a purpose. I also intentionally include space for the things I enjoy, like eating out, coffee, and simple fun, because I’ve learned that a budget I can’t live with is a budget I won’t stick to. I remind myself that my first budget is never my final budget, and I give myself permission to adjust, learn, and keep going. Because when I start telling my money where to go with intention, I stop wondering where it went and that’s where real financial peace begins.
